BDO: These are the typical mistakes we make when using the online invoices
In the summer of 2023, the domestic system of the Online Invoice will be 5 years old, which was launched by the National Tax and Customs Administration on July 1, 2018, in order to provide real-time, mandatory data for invoice data. The tax and IT experts of BDO Hungary collect the errors experienced in connection with the Online Account data provision and draw attention to the 4+2 type based on the feedback from the tax authority interface.
The online invoice system is a forward-looking development, the possibilities of which are still not used properly by many people, and the obliged organizations make several typical mistakes during its use – pointed out István Rácz, consultant and tax expert of BDO’s business IT services division. These are so common that in order to filter them out, we had to develop our own control software called Cumulus NAV Tool, which monitors whether the accounting and submitted invoice data are in sync. Based on the feedback received from the NAV system, the errors can be classified into the following groups:
There are errors during which the data provision takes place with the “DONE” rating according to the Online Account system, i.e. we should not expect any deficiencies, but they still happen. Discovering and correcting these errors requires active research, as there are no telltale signs that a problem has occurred in the billing or reporting process.
The other error type is “WARNING”. This means that the Tax Authority accepted it, but the data content of the invoice did not meet some automatic validation. This qualification does not necessarily mean that the given invoice or data provision is incorrect, however, deciding this remains the duty and responsibility of the taxpayer.
