Balaton jobs 2025: 600 thousand salary, accommodation, food
The 2025 Lake Balaton beach season promises not only relaxation for tourists, but also serious earning opportunities for those who take on summer work in coastal buffets and restaurants. According to the advertisements, there is plenty of choice: people are looking for positions as bartenders, servers, kitchen assistants, ice cream sellers and cooks – in many places with immediate start, guaranteed accommodation and meals – Pénzcentrum points out.
In most Balaton settlements – from Tihany to Gyenesdiás – they offer a net wage of 2,400–3,000 HUF/hour, but as a cook, or especially in an annual position, a monthly income of up to 500–600 thousand HUF is also available. NABOO Bistro or Tópart Hotel, for example, are specifically looking for professionals, with a premium salary and commuting support.
Students are welcome, but in many places experience and language skills are an advantage – especially English or German. Communication skills are key in such jobs, as most guests come from abroad. Most advertisements offer a declared employment relationship, and meals and accommodation are usually provided.
Those who are persistent and commit to 10 hours a day, six days a week, can earn up to 600–650 thousand forints per month – far exceeding the national average net wage in March 2025 (490,400 HUF). Seasonal work is therefore not only a summer adventure, but also a realistic springboard from a financial perspective: it can easily be saved for a driver’s license, studies, and travel.
The Balaton season proves every year that where accommodation, meals, fair pay, and sunshine are provided, employees are more motivated. For those who are flexible, speak languages, and can handle the hustle and bustle, this summer can bring not only experience, but also reserves.
