Balaton with LEGO in Vienna: strong Hungarian presence at the Ferien-Messe
According to Turizmus.com reports that Hungary will have its own stand at Austria’s largest tourism fair, the Ferien-Messe Wien in Vienna, where more than 430 exhibitors will be presenting themselves between January 15 and 18.
The joint stand of Visit Hungary and VisitBalaton365 will appear at the fair as a “Hungarian island”: the central element of the Balaton settlement is a nearly 2.5-meter-long LEGO installation, which presents the lake’s attractions and programs in a playful way – according to the article, the attraction has also caught the attention of ORF. NettaTravel’s Best of Balaton catalogue debuted at the event (VB365 is the professional curator of Lake Balaton packages), and Vienna’s Elite Tours held a special Balaton lecture in the Silent Cinema space.
The stand was also visited by Edit Szilágyiné Bátorfi, Hungary’s ambassador to Austria. According to the Ruefa Reisekompass 2026 survey cited on site, 90% of Austrians are planning at least one trip this year, and the average travel spend per person is 2,209 euros.
