Lake Balaton: More guests this year

Because of the weak forint, Hungary could attract foreign tourists – said Róna Iván the Chief Executive Officer of Hungarian Tourism Ltd.

The company forecast that more and more people choose 3-4 days inland trips, but does not definitively give up recreational facilities. Twenty percent of overnight stays by foreign guests and  50 percent of domestic guests is linked to the Hungarian sea. The season started well: on Easter day there was full house at the Lake Balaton.   In recent years, the turnover of campings have increased by 5-6 per cent, 15-20 per cent more per year for domestic tourists. The presence of foreigners do not grown to that extent, but the Austrians, Czechs and Slovaks also increased interest in the Lake Balaton.
