Thirty-two percent of tourism-related reservations are made online
The amount of money spent on holidays and various touristic puposes is going to reach 253 billion EUR this summer, in Europe. At least 32 percent of these reservations are going to be made online – a new research by PhoCusWright points out.
Travel agencies focusing on printing colourful catalogues need to re-think their strategies if they want to remain in the industry, since the new trend requires them to enable their guests to make all reservations online. In developed countries like the United Kingdom, the penetration of on-line reservations is close to 50 percent, and in the US, this number is even higher.
