The Unilever has launched its model farm program
The Unilever and the Knorr launched its model farm program in Hungary in Murony Békés County. At the farm in Murony high-quality onions are grown, that serve as an example for other agricultural suppliers in respect of sustainable agriculture.
The first Hungarian Knorr Model Farm is taking place on the farm of Bondár Imre onion grower. The Knorr Model Farm’s sustainability is manifested in the combined indicators of agricultural reagents, fuels, soil, water, biodiversity, energy consumption, waste management, and social and human workforce. The auditing of the Knorr Model Farm is carried out on the basis of the Unilever Sustainable Agriculture Code. A farm or plant is sustainable if at least 85 percent of the criterias is completed. Bondár Imre onion grower’s farm was in line with expectations, thus it can serve as an example for other suppliers in terms of sustainable agricultural practices.
