The Ukrainians spend more on alcohol, cigarettes and illegal drugs than on clothing and shoes
According to the datas of the Ukrainian State Statistics Office published on Wednesday, the Ukrainians spent more on alcoholic beverages, tobacco and illegal drugs last year, than on clothes and shoes.
According to the survey on consumer habits, the total of about 45 million people of Ukraine spent 986.5 billion UAH, ie 123 billion USD.
A large proportion of it, 38.9 percent was spent on food and non-alcoholic beverages. The next largest line item was transportation (12.3 percent) and overhead costs (12.2 percent).
It is notable, that Ukrainians spent the 7.7 percent of the total expenditure on alcohol, drugs and cigarettes, (76.2 billion UAH, or 9.5 billion USD) they spent on clothing and footwear only 65.3 billion UAH, slightly more than 8 billions USD. (MTI, Kovács Andrea)
