Ten percent of the medicaments are counterfeit worldwide –according to the study of the US Food and DrugAdministration (FDA). The European Union plans to review the EU directives against pharmaceutical counterfeiting in the first half of this year.
Once the regulations come into force, all pharmaceutical packaging, which are sold within the EU's borders, must be equipped with a security seal or some combination of security features. The goal that the pharmacists and if necessary , the buyers to be able to inspect teh hidden or visible safety marks on the products required by the law.
