The bread of the country is given
Hungary’s fate is determined not only by the amount of subsidies and the quality of the arable land, but also by the hard-working hands that cultivate the land every day, said Minister of Agriculture István Nagy at an event held on the occasion of the founding and state founder’s holiday in Budapest on Monday.
In his speech, the Minister emphasized that the Feast of St. Stephen provides an opportunity to look back on our past and draw encouragement from the strength of our great ancestors. Our founding king, millennial statehood, Christian culture and Hungarian history seem as real as the smell of freshly baked bread. According to István Nagy, perhaps there is no other nation in the world that is as attached to bread as we Hungarians. He added that thanks to the great endowments of our country, the hard work and perseverance of the people living here, the production of wheat for everyday bread has never been a problem on this land. The secret of good bread, in addition to skilled work, is good quality grain and excellent flour made from it. In terms of the quality of domestically produced wheat and flour, it has a place anywhere in the world, the head of the ministry reminded.
