Ten million eggs that wouldn’t make a chick
Bloomberg reports on an unusual government idea from Indonesia. Jakarta would force record-low poultry meat prices to rise by recommending the destruction of eggs to the poultry farmers – origo wrote.
The question is, if prices really start to rise, how can people with modest financial means pay for them?
The government has advised poultry farmers – especially large companies – to destroy, discard, or give 10 million eggs for free to consumers and purchasers as a way of stopping the further drop in poultry prices and thereby normalizing the price level. (origo)
