The Russian import ban is contrary to WTO rules
Russia's import ban on import vegetables from the European Union, that was announced on Thursday, is contrary to the rules of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) – said Fernando Valenzuela Head of the EU Delegation in Russia on Friday.
Russia stopped vegetable imports on Thursday, due to the Escherichia coli bacteria that is raging in Germany. Previously, there was only ban on imports of vegetables from Spain and Germany, which came into effect on Monday.
