Irrigation is supported by a new bill from the Ministry of Agriculture

The bill on irrigation farming was brought before the National Assembly, one of the main principles of which is, according to the farmers’ request, that irrigation is a public interest – Nagy István, Minister of Agriculture told.

The ministry leader emphasized that with the new law, the Ministry of Agriculture (MoD) aims to expand irrigated farming to allow farmers to adapt flexibly to the challenges of the weather and to further improve the efficiency of agricultural production. Irrigation development is both an economic and a national strategy issue because of our food sovereignty. (MTI)
