Brexit may cause surprise for online customers
Brexit can also make a big difference for those who order products from the UK via the Internet, as costs and administrative work can increase significantly – Világgazdaság Online wrote. Today, if you buy someone from a UK webshop, you will most likely have to calculate the purchase price with a 20 percent VAT.
“But after the Brexit, the formula changes completely,” – Gábor Zoltán, Brexit expert of Deloitte Magyarország said. The UK webshop will no longer include VAT in the price of the product. As a result, the price may seem very attractive, but as the goods arrive to Hungary, the customer may be surprised, because after Brexit, it may happen that the customer has to pay the Hungarian VAT (27 percent) and possibly the customs and administration fees.
