The OKSZ Takes a Stand on the Margin Cap Regulation
Regarding the government’s proposed price regulation measure, the National Trade Association (OKSZ) believes that competition-based pricing is the most effective way to preserve and strengthen consumers’ purchasing power while achieving inflation targets.
If a margin cap is introduced, it will only have an impact on inflation if the measure applies to all participants in the food supply chain and the burden is shared collectively. Once the relevant legislation is published, the Association will assess the corporate obligations necessary for compliance and evaluate the expected business and financial impact of the measure.
