One of the Vice-Chairs of the OECD Competition Committee became the President of the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH)
The President of the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) has been elected to the 17-member Council of the Competition Commission of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the GVH announced to MTI on Thursday.
According to the statement, Csaba Balázs Rigó assessed the appointment as a recognition of Hungarian competition policy and Hungarian competition law experts, emphasizing that the GVH works for fair competition and the protection of the interests of the Hungarian people.
The head of the authority considers international professional dialogue to be of paramount importance, especially in relation to artificial intelligence and digital markets.
The President of the GVH has also been a member of the steering committee of the International Competition Network (ICN) since 2021, and is the only one from the region to participate in the international committee – they wrote.
The OECD meeting in Paris adopted this year’s report and the 2026 program plan of the Budapest Regional Education Center (ROK).
When presenting the report and the program plan, Csaba Balázs Rigó highlighted that the OECD and the GVH’s joint Budapest The institution plays a key role in strengthening cooperation between the Eastern European and Central Asian regions, contributing to the Hungarian authority becoming a key player in knowledge sharing.
The GVH also pays attention to strengthening its international relations system and representing Hungarian interests by forming a bridge between Eastern and Western partners, the statement said.
