LG Strengthens Gaming Ecosystem with Cloud-Based Innovations and Gaming News
LG Electronics (LG) is further enhancing its gaming platform, Gaming Portal, which offers a wide range of choices and unmatched versatility on webOS-powered TVs and other devices. Now available in more than 30 countries, the revamped Gaming Portal transforms the gaming experience for both native webOS games and AAA titles, whether using a remote or gamepad.
A new user interface, which will be gradually rolled out starting in August, makes it even easier to discover and launch games. With the intuitive “Play with Gamepad” menu, users can select their favorite cloud-based service – such as Blacknut, Boosteroid or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate – and instantly access a wide range of games. Whether it’s racing on an iconic track or defeating the archenemy together, there’s an adventure for every gamer.
LG and NVIDIA’s collaboration also takes gaming to the next level: LG TVs are the first in the world to support 4K 120Hz HDR cloud gaming via the native GeForce NOW app, delivering an immersive, high-performance streaming experience.
The user interface update makes it easier for gamers by providing quick access to accessories such as controllers and gamepads. The newly introduced “Recommended for you” tab directs users to new deals and shopping opportunities. For example, the “Recommended For You. Game Pad” tab offers a 20% discount on Xbox wireless controllers in 17 European markets. In the United States, users can purchase the LG Magic Remote within the ShopTime app, allowing them to play with just one remote. For those who like challenges and competing on leaderboards, the Gaming Portal offers a “High Score Challenge” feature. This can be accessed from the “All Games” menu and adds extra excitement to the game – for example, Color Mash or other titles.
The LG Gaming Portal is constantly expanding its library with a variety of single and multiplayer titles. Thanks to the collaboration between LG and Blacknut, gamers can now subscribe to cloud-based games individually. They can also access adaptations of popular classics, such as Agatha Christie – Murder on the Orient Express, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, or Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway. The range also includes unique games such as Everdream Valley, where you can build a farm and interact with various animals, and Overcooked! 2, where you can test your teamwork in a chaotic kitchen. Blacknut’s selection also includes titles that don’t require a controller, such as The Jackbox Party Starter or the upcoming Inua – A Story in Ice and Time.
