LG to unveil new space-saving and energy-efficient refrigerator series at IFA 2025
LG Electronics (LG) will introduce its latest refrigerator collection for the European market at IFA 2025. The new French-door and bottom-freezer models were developed specifically for European homes and consumer lifestyles, based on extensive research into local needs and preferences. The range combines energy-saving operation with smart solutions and space-saving, modern designs, making it a perfect fit for today’s homes.
Outstanding Energy Efficiency
In response to the growing demand for energy-efficient household appliances in Europe, LG is introducing models that not only meet but far exceed the requirements of the European Union’s highest energy class, “A”. The new bottom-freezer model exceeds the requirements of the A rating, while the French-door version also achieves the A rating – an extremely rare achievement in this category.
LG’s outstanding energy efficiency is made possible by optimized insulation solutions tailored for the European market, as well as AI-based features that help reduce energy consumption by learning household usage patterns and optimizing compressor operation during periods of lower activity.
Fit & Max: Perfect fit and maximum performance
Designed for European, typically compact kitchens, the new product line comes with LG’s so-called Zero Clearance hinge solution, which allows the doors to open fully (up to 110 degrees) even when the appliance is placed directly against the wall. Thanks to LG’s premium, flat door design, the clean exterior creates an elegant, integrated effect.
The refrigerators are equipped with AI-controlled features that make everyday life easier and help save energy. For example, the AI Fresh function monitors door opening habits for three weeks and automatically lowers the temperature before identified peak periods. This reduces sudden temperature fluctuations when opening the door, keeping food fresher for longer. AI Saving Mode also analyzes usage patterns and intelligently adjusts cooling performance during periods of lower activity, reducing energy consumption.
The new range embodies LG’s MAX concept – maximum space utilization and maximum food freshness – and offers a range of storage solutions to make better use of the interior space. These include a foldable shelf that adapts to taller or larger boxes and products, and a spacious interior capacity. Freshness-enhancing technologies include LinearCooling™, which minimizes temperature fluctuations inside the appliance, DoorCooling+™, which provides fast and even cooling, and FreshConverter+™, which offers customizable storage zones for meat, fish and vegetables.
