Digital awareness is key for small and medium-sized enterprises. In parallel with the pace of technological development, cyber threats have also become increasingly complex, so it is essential that businesses keep up to date with security trends and respond to threats in a prepared manner. The goal of IVSZ, which has joined the Cyber Shield program, is for domestic businesses to defend themselves more effectively against the phenomenon of business fraud.
Digital fraud is occurring more and more frequently in the corporate environment, which can cause not only financial but also reputational damage to companies. In response to this phenomenon, IVSZ – Association of Digital Enterprises is joining the Cyber Shield initiative as a professional partner, which also aims to strengthen the cybersecurity preparedness of domestic businesses. The program aims to emphasize, in addition to technological developments, awareness-raising, education and cooperation.
The Cyber Shield program has achieved significant results in protecting retail customers in recent years, but now the need for security-conscious operations has become increasingly urgent in the corporate sector as well. The cooperation between CyberShield and IVSZ strengthens this process, helping Hungarian small and medium-sized enterprises with practical experience and knowledge sharing.
“The fight against digital fraud is not only a technological challenge, but also a social one. In order to protect customers, an advanced IT background is not enough – a change in attitude, education and cooperation are needed. IVSZ’s joining gives new impetus to the CyberShield program, which can thus act even more effectively to preserve digital trust”
– emphasized Péter Csányi, CEO of OTP Bank and Vice President of IVSZ responsible for digital transformation.
The spread of digitalization has brought new opportunities to the operations of companies, but has also opened up new attack surfaces. Cyberattacks and fraud attempts often exploit not the technological but the human factor: inattention, incomplete knowledge or manipulations based on false trust. The cooperation between the Cyber Shield program and IVSZ is therefore an important step not only on the technological but also on the educational front.
“Technology and digitalization only bring benefits if they are safe,” added Balázs Vinnai, President of IVSZ. “This requires not only the development of digital skills, but also cybersecurity awareness. IVSZ joined the Cyber Shield program so that cybersecurity is not a task, but a natural part of the everyday operations of SMEs.”
At the press event, OTP Bank presented the developments they are using to combat fraud attempts and the results they have achieved in this area. According to the bank’s experience, cybercriminals are using increasingly sophisticated methods to obtain sensitive data or deceive decision-makers and individual employees.
“Joint action and knowledge sharing are the key to enabling SMEs to develop safely in the digital space,” emphasized Ágnes Sütő, co-project manager of the CyberShield program. “The corporate expansion of CyberShield serves the purpose of making prevention, rapid response and information exchange commonplace in the domestic business sphere.”
The cooperation between CyberShield and IVSZ is a milestone in domestic corporate cybersecurity. The goal of the joint initiative is to ensure that digitalization not only means efficiency, but also security and trust for Hungarian businesses.
