A lack of domestic fruits
Only the the earliest domestic summer fruits have appeared on the domestic market, therefore, the high prices can not be a major factor. According to Mártonffy Béla, President of FruitVeB the consequences of the Easter frosts are less disastrous than initially seemed.
Last year, especially the apple was damaged, this year much more valuable fruit varieties (apricots, cherries, peaches and cherries) froze almost completely. In total volume losses will be less than last year, but in value, a much worse year is expected. The domestic consumers are less affected, as the dealers will find plenty of supplies in Europe.
