The uncertainty in the international energy market also immediately appeared in customer searches: in Hungary, interest in gas cylinders has jumped significantly, according to data from Árukereső.hu. The phenomenon is not unique, a similar trend can be observed in several countries in the region, as consumers try to prepare for possible price increases or supply disruptions.

The Iranian conflict and the tension in the Middle East are rapidly affecting not only global energy markets, but also customer searches. According to data from Árukereső.hu, interest in gas cylinders has increased spectacularly in Hungary, more than fourfold, by 346.8%, as some consumers are looking for alternative solutions or backup options in the uncertain energy situation.

Moreover, the phenomenon is not unique: similar reactions can be observed in other countries in the region. Gas cylinders can be a practical addition to many households for cooking, heating or even garden grilling, which is why they are particularly valuable in crisis situations. The trend can also be observed at a regional level. According to data from Heureka Group, the parent company of Árukereső.hu, interest in gas cans in the Czech Republic, for example, increased by 58.8% in a single week, while in Slovakia by 157%.

Buyers are therefore trying to prepare for possible price increases or supply disruptions not only in Hungary, but also in neighboring countries. Search data clearly shows that consumers react extremely quickly to global news and economic developments. Uncertainty about the price or availability of energy sources immediately appears in many people’s purchasing plans, whether it is about fuel storage or the search for alternative energy sources.

However, it is important to remember that it is not recommended to store fuel for a long time, as its quality may deteriorate over time, especially in the case of modern types containing bio-components. It is advisable to keep the cans in a cool, well-ventilated place, protected from direct sunlight, and it is definitely not recommended to place them in living spaces or closed rooms due to the evaporating vapors. Improper storage can pose a fire and explosion hazard, so it is worth following the safety regulations and manufacturer recommendations in all cases.

“The search data clearly shows that consumers react sensitively to news related to energy supply. When uncertainty increases, many people try to think ahead and look for solutions that will make them feel safer in their everyday lives,” said András Szták, Managing Director of Árukereső.hu.
