Most people expect the growth of the Internet
Hungarian Mediaindex, a survey by Marketing&Media and Ipsos revealed that 83 percent of those asked expect growing advertising revenues on the Internet for the second half of 2010. The heads of the 100 most important companies, media enterprises and advertising agencies were asked about their opinion on domestic media expenditures. Nearly two thirds of them forecasted an expansion for the cable television segment, while for national broadcast television channels only 30 percent predicted growth.
In the case of dailies, magazines and radios 73, 63 and 68 percent anticipated a downturn, respectively. Nearly 40 percent of participants said their companies’ media expenditure would not change in the second quarter from the same period last year. The Mediaindex’s base value would be 1,000 points if positive and negative changes were equal, now it is at 985 points – up from 972 in the first quarter.
