GVH negotiated with the food industry and trade professional organizations to combat inflation
The Economic Competition Authority (GVH) held a consultation with seven food industry and trade professional organizations and representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture regarding its proposals aimed at reducing inflation published last week – the competition authority informed MTI on Tuesday.
According to the announcement, on May 8, the GVH released the draft report of the accelerated sectoral investigation on the market of durable foods (canned and frozen products) for public consultation. Based on the results of the investigation, the authority’s experts formulated six proposals and action points, which can contribute to more effective competition, strengthening market competition, and thereby reducing prices.
They proposed encouraging the production of vegetables and fruits in Hungary, increasing efficiency, automating agricultural production and installing irrigation systems, supporting the use of renewable energy sources, and encouraging the development of precision agricultural vocational training and sustainable packaging systems.
