The IMF has not changed its global economic growth forecast
After declining by 3.2 percent in 2020, global economic growth could grow by 6 percent this year, according to the latest forecast, which is in line with the IMF’s World Economic Outlook (WEO) forecast released in April. At the same time, the Washington-based organization improved its expectations for next year by 0.5 percentage points to 4.9 percent.
In developed countries, after last year’s 4.6 percent economic contraction, 5.6 percent expansion is expected this year, 0.5 percentage points higher than expected in April. The IMF raised next year’s figure by 0.8 percentage points to 4.4 percent. (MTI)
