We will not get away without price increases this year
Bread and meat are expected to be more expensive, while from May egg prices will increase also. Petrol may cost 5-6 percent more on an annual level.
“Due to bad weather of the last year yield is low, increasing the price of cereals” – explained Dr. Lakatos Zoltán, president of the Hungarian Grain Association to Bors.
Werli József, the Secretary-General of the Association of Bakers not too hopeful either.
“The price of flour increases, while the energy, fuel prices and labor costs have also increased. If we do not want a loss, we should increase prices. The rate, however, does not dare to predict” – said Werli.
