This year will not be a record year in agriculture
The fruits were decimated by the frost, grain by the drought, and much depends on the future development of the weather. It is certain: this year we can not expect a record year in agriculture, which is expected to put an impact on prices that will increase.
The primarily a problem in the fruit and vegetable sector was mainly due by the frost, the drought is not a big problem – told Mártonffy Béla to Világgazdaság. The President of the Hungarian Fruit and Vegetable Interprofessional Organisation and Product Board (FruitVeB) added that the spring frost affected four species at the same time, because apricots, peaches, cherries and sour cherries have suffered severe damages. Apples also damaged, but fortunately in a much smaller extent. (Világgazdaság Online – Braunmüller Lajos)
