This year will be the year of Kékfrankos
The Ministry of Agriculture (FM) declared this year as the year of Kékfrankos (Gamay) – the head of the ministry announced on Friday in Budapest at the closing event of the Year of Furmint.
Fazekas Sándor emphasized that this year was the year of Kékfrankos(Gamay), because it is a true Hungarian grape variety from which excellent wines can be produced, which is worth to draw the consumers’ attention. In addition, the Kékfrankos (Gamay) is the most popular and most cultivated blue grape variety in Hungary. (MTI)
