FM Logistic starts the operations for Auchan in Hungary
Due to FM Logistic and Auchan partnership for several years in the world, in countries like Russia, Poland,
China, France and recently in Hungary, FM Logistic is strengthening its position in the retail industry and
expends its logistics operations with temperature controlled services in Eastern and Central Europe, particularly
in Hungary.
The philosophy and the business operations of Auchan and FM Logistic are quite similar due to the fact that organic growth is preferred and historical mode of development. As they are both unlisted family firms,
FM Logistic and Auchan are implementing progressive policy and controlled international growth, and are
concentrating own investments on three priority development areas: Western Europe, Central and Eastern
Europe, and Asia.
This strategic choice allows both companies to occupy solid positions in the countries in which are being
present.
“Our low price policy is based on providing good quality products to our customers at low prices. We select our
partners in accordance with this policy: our main aspect is the service’s excellent rate of value for money.
We selected FM Logistic because of their proposal met all of our professional expectations, and the excelent
services what they provide to Auchan in other countries guarantee the quality for us. Their reliablity and
punctuality provid a strong basis for our partnership.” highlighted Mr. Peter BONCSER Supply Chain Director
for Auchan Hungary.
FM Logistic has defined logistics for fresh products as a key segment for its new 10 years strategic plan, in
order to complete the range of services provided to the retailers (i.e. by combining distribution of ambient and
chilled products).
“The retail market, particularly fresh and vegetable products, is a strategic development direction for FM
Logistic, which is also proven by the acquisition of Univeg Logistics Russia, part of Univeg Group which is a
worldwide leading supplier, processor and distributor of fresh product. This transaction confirms that one of the
Group’s business strategic directions is to expand its logistic expertise and to complete the range of services
provided to the retailers (i.e. by combining distribution of ambient and chilled products). We are delighted
to start our business in the Hungarian retail sector with such a strong local player” declared Carlos VELEZ,
General Manager FM Logistic Hungary Ltd.
