Destinations of extreme tourism
More and more tourists want to visit unusual places and have adventures, but some of the now fashionable travel destinations raise serious moral questions – origo wrote. Not only extreme tourism has become a new concept in recent years, but survival and dark tourism have also been gaining ground. Many people choose places for their travels where there has been tragedy before, but there are those whose danger is the greatest adventure.
The growth of tourism is a growing concern in Antarctica as well. In the summer of 2016 and 2017, 44,000 people visited Antarctica, compared with just the 9,000 of 1995. There are many different ways to take part in the tour, including a submarine, an icebreaker, and an expedition ship. (origo, Balogh Tamás Márk)
