Agricultural prices augmented at the beginning of the year
KSH’s report informs that the production price index of agricultural products went up by 0.2 percent in February 2010, compared with the same period a year before. This February vegetable product prices grew by 2 percent, while livestock and animal product prices decreased by 2.8 percent. Cereal production prices augmented by 1 percent and fruit production prices were also higher, by 10.7 percent. Slaughter livestock production prices were 4.7 percent lower than in February last year.
Slaughter cattle prices were up 3.1 percent, but slaughter pig prices were down 9.5 percent. As concerns products of animal origin, prices augmented by 1.9 percent – egg prices grew by 7.4 percent, while milk prices increased by 1.7 percent.
