Euro area inflation was 1.2 percent in June
The rate of inflation expected by analysts was 1.2 percent in June in the euro area, based on a report by Eurostat on Friday, based on preliminary data.
In May, inflation in the euro area fell to the lowest level of 1.2 percent since April last year, from the 1.7 percent of April.
In June, energy prices rose 1.6 percent on an annual basis after the 3.8 percent of May. The price of food, alcoholic beverages and tobacco increased by 1.6 percent after the 1.5 percent in the previous month. (MTI)
