Retail sales increased in the EU and declined in the euro zone in September
The increase of the retail sales in the Euro zone, experienced in the previous months has stopped in: the volume delined by an average 0.2 percent compared to August – Eurostat announced on Wednesday. Compared to the previous year, the retail sales fell by 0.8 percent.
In the 27-member European Union, retail sales rose by 0.1 percent on a monthly basis, and by 0.3 percent in a twelve months comparision.
The largest monthly growth of 2.4 percent was registered in Denmark, followed by Estonia (2 percent) and Germany with 1.5 percent.
Sales declined in Spain with the most, by more than 7 percent. (MTI)
