Eastern EU Member States are hit hardest by rising food prices
According to a compilation based on data from the EU’s statistical office (Eurostat), the highest annual increase in food prices was in Lithuania in April this year. Bulgaria is in second place with 21 percent and Latvia is in third place with 17.7 percent. Very significant price increases of more than 14 percent have also been registered in Estonia, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia. (MTI)
