Retail sales are slowly climbing in the EU
According to Eurostat’s quick estimate, retail sales grew by 0.8 percent in the EU-27 and by 0.6 percent in the eurozone in August 2010, compared to the same period a year earlier. Expansion characterised 10 member states and sales contracted in 9 EU countries. The biggest growth was registered in Poland (6.7 percent), while Lithuania suffered the biggest decline (6.9 percent).
