The EU votes on sugar-free fruit juices
The European Union would ban sugar from the fruit juices. They would also regulate, that the juices made of concentration could not be marketed as 100 percent fruit juices. In another regulation they would certify tomatoe as fruit.
The proposal of the European Commission would ban added sugar from fruit juices union-wide. The traditional fruit juices now contain more than 150 grams of sugar per liter, the sweeter, less fruit containing nectars a maximum 20 percent. If they vote on the proposal, it will be possible that only the nectars will contain sugar or honey, but this fact should be clearly indicated on the packaging – reports szabadfold.hu.
