A website collecting the side effects of dietary supplements has been launched
The website collecting the side effects of dietary supplements has been launched, the notifications received on the www.nutrivigilancia.hu page are analyzed by specialists, in order to be able to identify signs that are also significant from a public health point of view – the Hungarian Association of Dietary Supplement Manufacturers and Distributors (MÉKISZ) informed the MTI t.
According to the announcement, dietary supplements are foods that look a lot like medicines because they contain vitamins, trace elements, minerals and other ingredients with a nutritional or physiological effect in a concentrated form – including capsules or tablets.
The domestic dietary supplement market is expanding dynamically, and a significant part of the adult population regularly consumes such products. Even during long-term use, these products cannot endanger the health of consumers, and in the case of high-quality products, this expectation is met. However, in case of individual sensitivity, consumption of many products at the same time, or potential quality problems, undesirable effects may occur that may justify the suspension of taking the product.
