You can apply for the Value and Quality Grand Prix Certification Trademark until May 28th!
In 2026, the call for entries for the Érték és Minőség Nagydíj (Value and Quality Grand Prize) was announced for the ninth time. Applications are open until May 28 across more than 100 categories within 48 main groups covering the economy and culture. Today, nearly 200 partners use the Certification Trademark on more than 1,000 products and services – proving that verified quality creates tangible market value. The awards will be presented on September 10 in a ceremonial setting in the Upper House Chamber of the Hungarian Parliament, once again placing excellence in the spotlight. “Despite the economic challenges of recent years, the Érték és Minőség Nagydíj Certification Trademark continues to enjoy unchanged prestige. Striving for high quality is not only about the perfection of the end product, but about an entire business process. It is encouraging that demand for reliable and cost-effective solutions is growing: manufacturers, distributors and conscious consumers are choosing quality in increasing numbers,” said Ildikó Kiss Károlyné, founder of the Érték és Minőség Nagydíj Certification Trademark.
In 2026, the Érték és Minőség Nagydíj competition was announced and implemented for the ninth time by ABP-Corp. Kft., Bocsiviki.hu Kereskedelmi és Szolgáltató Kft., the Délalföldi Kertészek Vegetable and Fruit Producer and Marketing Agricultural Cooperative, DIAMOND Szervezőiroda Bt., FANNIZERO Kft., Harkányi Gyógyfürdő Zrt., JUSTICE Security Asset Protection, Consulting and Service Kft., and Koch’s Torma Kft. The Patron of the Érték és Minőség Nagydíj competition is Prof. Dr. János Latorcai, Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament. The professional supporter of the application system is the Ministry of Agriculture, its key supporter is the Prime Minister’s Office – State Secretariat for National Policy, and its professional partner is the National Food Chain Safety Office.
The mission of the Érték és Minőség Nagydíj competition is to recognise outstanding products and services and to award the businesses that create them. By granting the right to use the trademark, the organisers acknowledge not only the work performed and the results achieved, but also efforts made for the quality development of the Hungarian economy. The awards recognise values that fit organically with Hungary’s economic priorities, thereby supporting national competitiveness and stable economic growth. A common feature of the awarded applicants is that they choose energy-efficient solutions and apply modern technologies to address global challenges.
“At present, across almost the entire spectrum of the economy, nearly 200 of our partners use the Érték és Minőség Nagydíj Certification Trademark on more than 1,000 products/product groups and services”
– highlighted Ildikó Kiss Károlyné, founder of the Érték és Minőség Nagydíj trademark.
We are convinced that a country’s economic strength is also reinforced when the emblem of excellence can be seen on as many of its products and services as possible. In 2025, 40 entries submitted by 34 applicants earned the award. Agriculture remained the most defining field; according to a representative survey, in the case of food products 86.6% of shoppers prefer products made in Hungary. At the same time, in parallel with the advance of automation and digitalisation, solutions improving efficiency and reducing costs, as well as sustainable operating models integrating the circular-economy approach, received increasing emphasis. Last year, a civil community was included among the awardees for the first time. As organisers, we strive to ensure that the most active businesses operating throughout Hungary and beyond its borders, across the Carpathian Basin, can also join the work of the application system, thereby strengthening economic ties. We trust that outstanding entries will be submitted in 2026 as well”
– emphasised Ildikó Kiss Károlyné.
János Latorcai, Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament and Patron of the event, said the following in his welcome address:
“In addition to international developments, many businesses also perceive the upcoming parliamentary elections as a risk and therefore choose to wait rather than invest. This is particularly risky at a time when an extraordinary information-technology revolution is reshaping markets. Recognising this, the government successfully launched the Demján Sándor programme last year, and as a continuation of it, in February this year it is supporting domestic small and medium-sized enterprises with further targeted schemes. The government considers it particularly important that the rapid, large-scale spread of artificial-intelligence use should not lead to rising unemployment; this is why the ‘SME capacity expansion support 3.0’ programme was launched in February to strengthen the competitiveness of Hungarian micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and support job creation. According to the latest forecasts, consumption may again be the driving force of the economy this year. Ultimately, it depends on us, consumers, whether as conscious shoppers we give preference to domestic products. This is our shared social responsibility, and the Érték és Minőség Nagydíj competition has been helping us navigate this for many years.
András Tállai, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, commented on the competition as follows:
“This year is especially challenging: the transformation of global markets, geopolitical tensions, and the dualities experienced in the domestic economy place rapid adaptation, consistent value creation and credible quality at the centre of business success. In this environment, the Érték és Minőség Nagydíj Certification Trademark plays a prominent role. It helps consumers make informed choices while providing an objective competitive advantage for applicant companies. The continuous strengthening of domestic consumer demand, rising real wages, and the Government’s targeted measures together create favourable conditions for demand for high-quality products made in Hungary to grow further. Experience shows that shoppers today decide not only on price, but also on durability and professionally verified quality. In this process, the ÉMIN trademark is a guarantee that consumers receive genuine, high-standard performance.”
Lőrinc Nacsa, State Secretary for National Policy, said the following in his welcome address about the competition:
“The Érték és Minőség Nagydíj Certification Trademark clearly shows that we recognise the work of those who perform the most valuable, the highest-quality work. Those who, through their work, not only ensure the well-being of themselves and their colleagues, but also enhance the good reputation of Hungarians. The importance of the value of work and striving for quality does not stop at national borders: every Hungarian, wherever they live in the Carpathian Basin or anywhere in the world, represents and strengthens this spirit. That is why it is very important that the Érték és Minőség trademark can be borne not only by businesses in the mother country, but also by Hungarian enterprises beyond the borders. An important step in the reunification of our nation is that we now think in terms of one unified nation in the economy and business sphere as well.”
Anyone—private individuals, legal entities, unincorporated associations, sole proprietors or creative communities—may apply for the Érték és Minőség Nagydíj competition until May 28, 2026. The open nature of the competition allows most economic and cultural enterprises to apply for the right to use the Érték és Minőség Nagydíj Certification Trademark and the honorary title; however, the subject of the application can only be a product already embodied in economic activity, an idea realised as a service, or an innovative concept. In addition to trademark rights, the system also provides for special awards recognising the most outstanding applications in various fields.
The announced 48 main groups cover several branches of heavy industry such as mechanical engineering, the chemical industry, building materials and the automotive sector; many areas of light industry such as wood, paper, textile and leather industries, printing, handicrafts and home industry; and almost all areas of the food industry. Equally important are groups related to medical and healthcare devices and services, as well as interior design and hospitality. For the first time this year, so-called “free-from” products will have a dedicated application opportunity. Naturally, the main groups also include various services such as webshops, museum, leisure and cultural activities, events, education, public catering, freight forwarding, warehousing, etc.
The awards of the Érték és Minőség Nagydíj competition – “the symbol of certified quality” – will be presented on September 10, 2026 in the Upper House Chamber of the Hungarian Parliament.
Quality certification through trademarks has a history spanning nearly three decades. The predecessor of the Érték és Minőség Nagydíj Certification Trademark, the Magyar Termék Nagydíj Certification Trademark, was launched in spring 1998. This trademark – extended to the entire Carpathian region – was followed in 2018 by the modern, internationally clear Érték és Minőség Nagydíj Certification Trademark. Based on the decision of the Council of Organisers, the applications deemed most outstanding earn the right to use the Érték és Minőség Nagydíj Certification Trademark and, for the duration of trademark use, to bear the honorary Érték és Minőség Nagydíj title. Trademark use is certified by an honorary certificate in Hungarian and English designed by graphic artist Károly Balázs, and by a unique applied-arts trophy designed by applied artist Dr. Andrea Szőcs, decorated with the Érték és Minőség Nagydíj emblem. The Council of Organisers also awards special prizes to the most outstanding entries.
