Energy-drinks appear to be crisis-resistant
In spite of the crisis, a bustling trade can be seen in the energy-drink retail-sphere. Retail volume faces a 31 percent expansion value-wise, whereas a 42 percent increase when it comes to quantity.
Its annual turnover is
over 10 billion HUF by now, according to Nielsen's March
2008-February 2009 data. Tuttifrutti is the most popular flavour at
the moment, closely followed by mixed fruit flavours. The light
version of energy-drinks is on the rise, but still below 10 percent.
The vast majority of energy-drinks is sold in supermarkets and a
smaller amount of items reaches the customer via restaurant. As a
whole, more energy-drinks are being sold now than a year ago.
