Energy independence is also important for agriculture
Anikó Juhász, Deputy Secretary of State responsible for agriculture, during his professional visit to Olawa in Poland, spoke about the changes and crises affecting agriculture, that all these highlighted that the key to successful agriculture is modernization, which is essential not only from an economic point of view, but also from an environmental and social point of view.
Organized by the Hungarian Hydrogen Technology Association, the Hungarian professional delegation visited the sample site of the Olawa EKO Energy Cluster in Poland, which also deals with agricultural solutions, where both parties had the opportunity to present their scope of activities and discuss the possibilities and forms of future cooperation. During the visit, the Hungarian side got acquainted with the good practices of the innovative agricultural ecosystem in Poland. The members of the delegation were able to view the operating mechanisms of renewable energy sources such as wind farms, solar parks and the specific process for the production of green hydrogen.
One of the plant’s main innovations is the development of the Agricultural Hydrogen Energy (AHE) system
With the help of agricultural production, it combines the possibilities of solar energy, wind energy and hydrogen production, as well as water retention and irrigation. From an agricultural point of view, the Cluster is also a good example of cooperation with a product track approach, striving to produce high added value, since the design of the planned fiber hemp cultivation system – from the selection of the plant variety to the development of the technology – is based on the production of the related innovative industrial product.
At the meeting, Anikó Juhász emphasized that the key to successful agriculture is modernization, which is essential not only from an economic point of view, but also from an environmental and social point of view
For this, as he said, all innovations and development investments that pay special attention to sustainable management and the protection of environmental values are necessary. In addition to renewable energy sources, the production of (green) hydrogen will gain more and more space in the future, an excellent example of which is the Polish initiative. A.M
