Second fastest price rise for food behind energy
In the first five months of 2007, prices were 8,6 per cent higher on average than a year earlier. According to KSH figures, food prices grew by 1,6 per cent in a month, which was the result of a 13,4 per cent increase in the prices of seasonal foods. Compared to May 2006, household energy prices (31,6 per cent) and food prices (11,2 per cent) show higher than average increase.
