eMAG’s new credit developments: more convenient installment payments for Hungarian customers
eMAG has introduced a significant development that makes online shopping on credit even easier and more convenient. With the addition of OTP Bank, the products of eMAG and Marketplace partners are now available to purchase on credit from Magyar Cetelem and Cofidis, as well as OTP Bank. This means not only a wider selection for customers, but also better financial solutions – we learn from the article in Pénzcentrum.
0% APR and mixed baskets
Customers can now use credit with a 0% APR, if the value of the basket exceeds 30,000 forints. The new structure can be particularly useful, for example, during home renovations, as products distributed by eMAG and offered by Marketplace partners can both be added to the basket and paid for with a single credit. This way, customers can avoid the complications of arranging separate loans.
“Our partnership with OTP Bank is a milestone for eMAG, as we have successfully integrated the services of the country’s largest bank into our system,”
said Kinga Daradics, CEO of eMAG Hungary. She added that they will be working on further simplifications in the future to make the purchasing process even smoother.
Popular products on credit
According to eMAG’s experience, purchases on credit are mainly IT and telecommunications products, such as laptops, PC components and smartphones. These are followed by large household appliances such as washing machines or refrigerators, as well as modern home appliances such as electric scooters, air conditioners or premium cleaning machines. Home exercise machines and other quality-of-life products are also popular among those who choose to pay in installments.
