ProWein 2009 Exceeds all Expectations
Optimism reigns in the global wine and spirits industry as was witnessed this week at the ProWein International Wine and Spirits trade show held in Duesseldorf, Germany, March 29th –31st.

International Wine and Spirits trade show sees a more than 5%
increase in attendance, over 35 000, was registered by the show’s
conclusion on March 31st revealing trade enthusiasm for Germany’s
foremost wine and spirit branch exhibition. ProWein’s provenance as
a leading international venue for the
wine and spirits trade was further underlined by an increase of 12.5%
among visitors from abroad. The greatest increases were seen among
those guests from the USA, Scandinavia, the Benelux nations,
Switzerland and Slovenia.
“Cool
Climate Wines,” those wines exhibiting moderate alcohol content,
Silvaner wines celebrating that varietal’s 350th anniversary and
Vintage- Cocktails received the greatest attention. Bio-wines, those
wines produced according to the most stringent biological-ecological
standards contained their on-going popularity as well.
