Passenger traffic at the Henri Coanda Airport in Bucharest grew by thirty percent
The number of passengers at Henri Coanda (Otopeni) Bucharest International Airport increased by 30 percent to 4.9 million in the first nine months of this year, compared to the same period last year, but passenger traffic is still significantly lower than before the coronavirus pandemic, the electronic edition of the Romanian business newspaper Ziarul Financiar wrote on Monday.
Valentin Iordache, an airport spokesman, told the paper that 51,294 planes landed and took off during the period under review, compared to 42,292 in the first nine months of last year. The spokesman said almost 700,000 passengers were registered in October and an additional 400-500,000 were expected in November and December, bringing the number of airport users to 6.5 million by the end of the year.
