The weakest apricot harvest in the past twenty years is expected this year
According to KSH data, the apricot harvest in Hungary has ranged between 10,000 and 25,000 tons in the past five years, and in 2024 it was 54 percent more (24.9 thousand tons) than a year earlier. Experts predicted the weakest harvest in the past twenty years for 2025 due to unfavorable weather.

According to KSH data, apricot exports in Hungary increased by 219 percent to 1,590 tons in 2024. The largest target market was the Czech Republic, where 707.1 tons of apricots were delivered. Imports of fresh apricots (mainly from Spain and Italy) decreased by 22 percent to 2,130 tons during the observed period.
According to AKI PÁIR data, the Budapest Wholesale Market offered apricots from Greece and Spain in the weeks preceding the domestic season
The wholesale price of imported apricots increased by 50 percent to 2,257 forints/kilogram in the 19th–25th week of 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year. This year, domestic apricots entered the market in the 26th week at a price of 2,100 forints/kilogram. The producer price of domestic apricots increased by 118 percent to 1,983 forints/kilogram in the 26th–28th week of 2025 compared to the same period of 2024.
