The development of food industry is a national strategic issue  – voiced Bognár Lajos, Deputy-Secretary of State of the Ministry of Rural Development (VM) responsible for food chain surveillance and agri-management at a press conference in Budapest on Tuesday.

He added that without modern processing there is no viable agriculture. An effective monitoring system, which ensures the high level of consumer safety is still necessary for the proper functioning of the industry. The pre-easter food safety inspections will also guarantee the latter.  (MTI)
