The most important challenges facing the food industry in the Carpathian Basin – efficiency, competitiveness, marketing
Agency, marketing? What subsidies can the food industry expect in the new EU development policy period? Among other things, the XXXII sought answers to these questions. At the round table discussion organized by Bálványosi Summer Free University and Student Camp MBH Bank, Márton Nobilis, State Secretary responsible for food industry and trade policy at the Ministry of Agriculture, Miklós Kerezsi, President of the Hodler Group, Gergely Giczi, Executive Deputy Director of the Agrármarketing Centrum, and Dávid Mezei, for agricultural relations and agricultural support of the bank’s Agricultural and Food Business Branch the head of the responsible center.
“Currently, the food industry is perhaps the most important part of agriculture, which could mean the future,”
emphasized Márton Nobilis, reminding that Hungary had a long tradition of the food industry.
“And the coronavirus pandemic and the Russian-Ukrainian war highlighted even more the fact that we must be self-sufficient, and this requires improvements, increasing efficiency and efficiency of scale. The government sees the food industry as a strategic partner.”
The participants of the round table discussion agreed that it is a priority task that, in addition to agriculture, the food industry should also receive greater support in the next period, since the domestic food industry is the most important and reliable market for domestic farmers.
