The decline in the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages slowed down in Ukraine
In Ukraine, the increase in consumer prices accelerated to 4.8 percent, the highest level this year, in June in an annual comparison from 3.3 percent in May – according to the data presented by the statistical office on Wednesday.
Inflation in housing and utilities jumped from 13 percent in May to 18.6 percent in June as targeted Russian attacks on Ukraine’s power grids cut power production, forcing some of the power to be imported and , that electricity prices rose by 63.6 percent compared to last June. The price increase of transport (from 11.2 percent to 13 percent) and healthcare (from 9.6 percent to 10.1 percent) accelerated, while the decrease in the price of food and non-alcoholic beverages slowed down (to 0.1 percent in June from 0.5 percent in May.)
In Ukraine, consumer prices rose by 2.2 percent on a monthly basis, the largest since October 2022, in June.
