The MSZP urges to reduce the VAT on food
The MSZP urges to reduce the VAT on food as soon as possible, after the Romanian government announced to plan the introduction of a 9 percent VAT on agricultural food products in place of the current 24 percent VAT rate from the 1st of January.
Gőgös Zoltán, socialists agricultural politiciantold at his Wednesday press conference, that if the Orbán government did not decide as soon as possible over tax reduction, Hungary will be the region's only country which burdens food products with a such high VAT rate, that may cause the bankruptcy of farmers and the further expansion of black economy.
