Food prices rose by 1.1 percent in Romania
Annual inflation in Romania fell to 4.9 percent in June, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) announced on Thursday.
June was the fifth month in a row when the growth of the consumer price index slowed down. In May, the annual inflation rate in Romania was 5.1 percent. In one year, the prices of services rose the most, by 8.8 percent. Non-food products rose in price by an average of 6.28 percent, and food by 1.1 percent.
The prices of postal services (26.56 percent), medicines (23.96 percent) and detergents (21.96 percent) increased the most in the last 12 months. In the category of non-food products, the price of cosmetics increased the most (11.07 percent), and among food and beverages canned fruit (9.76 percent), wine (8.04 percent) and beer (7.21 percent) ).
