Food prices increase inflation
The rising food prices due to the floods and bad weather, increase the inflation in Hungary. According to Palócz Éva, director of Kopint – Tárki; the grain yield loss can be replaced by imports, in the case of fruits and vegetables it will be harder.
The director of Kopint – Tárki said, that they do not expect a significant improvement in the Hungarian economy, but expect a slow but steady growth rate. This is also supported by the report of the Central Statistics Office that shows a 0.9 percent higher economic performance in the first quarter, compared to the previous quarter – reports Világgazdaság Online.
