The increase in food prices decreased from 14.3 percent to 13.7 percent in France
The French statistical office, Insee, announced on Thursday as final data that annual inflation slowed to 4.5 percent in June, from 5.1 percent in May, to the lowest level since last March.
In June, consumer prices increased by 0.2 percent compared to May, when a decrease of 0.1 percent was recorded.
After a 2 percent increase in May, energy prices fell by 3 percent year-on-year last month, while food price growth moderated from 14.3 percent to 13.7 percent. Inflation in the service sector was 3 percent in June, the same as in May.
In France, the harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) calculated for EU comparison purposes was 5.3 percent in June on an annual basis after 6 percent in May, while in a monthly comparison it increased by 0.2 percent after a decrease of 0.1 percent in May.
